A Letter From the Editor: The Beauty of Becoming — Why I’m Proud to Be Fabulous Over 40

Dear Queens,

There’s something incredibly sacred about reaching a point in your life where you stop asking for permission to shine.

When I entered the Fabulous Over 40 contest, it wasn’t just about competing — it was about celebrating. Celebrating womanhood, growth, resilience, and the kind of confidence that can only come from years of learning, healing, and loving yourself through every version of you.

What started as a simple nomination turned into something much deeper: a reminder that the glow we carry in our 40s isn’t just physical — it’s spiritual. It’s peace, it’s purpose, it’s power.

The Evolution of Confidence

When I first began the Thoughts of a Blog Queen column , I wanted to create a space for women to see themselves in every stage of becoming.

The strong moments.

The soft ones.

The messy, healing, rediscovering parts too.

Now, being in this contest — moving from the Top 20 ➝ Top 15 ➝ Top 10 and hopefully gracefully moving into the Top 5— feels like a full-circle moment.

Because this is what growth looks like.

It’s the glow-up that comes from experience.

It’s walking in your truth without shrinking.

It’s being the woman who knows her worth, her boundaries, and her beauty — inside and out.

Being over 40 doesn’t mean you fade into the background.

It means you finally step into your spotlight — on your own terms.

What This Moment Represents

To me, this isn’t just a competition. It’s a movement.

It’s a love letter to every woman who’s been told that her best years are behind her — when in truth, they’re just beginning.

This is for the women rebuilding after heartbreak.

For the women rediscovering themselves after motherhood.

For the women choosing peace over pressure.

For every woman learning that her glow doesn’t have an expiration date.

That’s why this platform means so much.
